No sewage overflow

Comments:

Yes, the truck did come this week and did a cleanout.

Yes, the rain water pila filled up and overflowed clean water. That is normal. No, that was not thrown sewage as the gossiper reported.

The alarmist, an associate of the former blogger,is apparently talking this situation up in a negative manner.
He also cornered a certain resident, as the blogger did last April, to make several comments to the office on his behalf. Said resident suggested that these comments be made to office personally, but agreed to pass on the conversation verbatim as requested to office.

Let us hope no false words are put in mouth of the confronted resident, as happened last year by blogger.

Let's hope we have a more pleasant New Year.

Septic Systems

Comments:

The idea that a roofer and a used car salesmen could tell you what a sewage system should be is mind boogling. They have "no idea". A proper system that would be run right in San Miguel, is a septic system that has been discribed before. It is a system that would have tanks and leech lines that are the normal for systems throuhgout the world. It,s been used for thousands of years and to this day. And it hasen't been a problem until somebody decided to make a problem. You made it a problem. You haven't addressed any issue that I have presented.

Sewage Gossip?

Comments:

We are hearing gossip about the septic / sewer. I thought the septic tank fills up and you pump it out. Am I missing something?

If so, how does the septic system work? The basics?
What is the current state of the village's system?
What is "grey" and "brown water"? Do we have either?
Is sewage really coming out or is that just more false alarms?

I'm confused (again)! What is true? Can someone clarify?

New Year's Resolution - Move On (on the site and in the village)

Comments:

This site is not allied with any organization, management, or association. We believe there are many good people in the village (members and non-members) and have friends on both sides. We also believe that some sort of community group would be beneficial and that everyones voice should be heard .

The actions of a few show no interest in bringing the village together. The personal attacks and childish antics have worn thin for many. We believe the common goal is the betterment and the correction of the problems at San Miguel. We do not believe it needs to be done through fear and intimidation.

We encourage everyone to find solutions, share thoughts, opinions, stories, or ask questions about San Miguel.

We believe it is time to move on (on the site and in the village). Lets work together to find solutions. Lets build a better village. Suggestions on the site have included having a group gathering, creating a committee, an inclusive association or simply changing the leadership. We recommend leadership without the attitude.

We have tired of the threats, demands, and offensive emails and will no longer be posting them on this site.

El Diablo: Whatever your view is.... please feel safe to post it! We welcome Everyone.

Quit criticizing Jim's efforts. He says

"Some people may elect to install solar or continue with generators. Everyone has that choice."

No action required. Pay or don't pay. Move on or stay put.
It is optional sheeple. Do it or don't... but please quit bitching!

Lotteries and Windfalls

Comments:

We are all so happy for our resident bartender's good forune at the San Nicolas. that should boost the business there!

But , did you read about the guy in Vermont who thru out his Christmas candy bag from his mother, containing a lottery ticket? He retrieved it from the trash and won 650 K.

And the the guy in Belgium who won 10.5 million dollars and giving half to charity, for those less fortunate?

And the 78 yr old widow who just retrieved the ticket her husband bought just before he died working in his yard? Ten Million smackers. Almost tossed. The sons said their father would say, "Go figure"

I guess that says it all.

Happy New Year!

Comments:

We are celebrating New Year's in Thailand but with our thoughts back home in San Miguel. Thanks to Jim Hodges for bringing electricity back to our casita and, thus, making 2008 a much brighter year than 2007. Especial thanks to Marie for keeping us informed and entertained while we are away. Thanks also to Jeff for his updates. Thanks to Yoyo for keeping an eye on our house. And thanks to El Diablo for providing this forum so that we don't feel so far away. We wish everyone in the Village all the best in 2009.

Happy New Year-with a twist

Comments:

Some people in San Miguel think if they put a plug nickel under their pillow, they will wake up with electricity and a bright new world.

One person thinks he is special and " a good heart donation" (not full amount) will give him everlasting light.

Is this wishful thinking or selfish thinking?Neither is intelligent thinking, but prevalent from those who want something for nothing or next to nothing.

The majority in our village have paid the cost for having light and are thankful for this necessary utility. But this majority is neither the tooth fairy or Santa Claus(sorry, Virginia) and not willing to subsidize the wishers, dreamers, and naysayers.

Oh, lighten up, everybody, for the New Year.
Oh, Happy days ahead.
